A Love Letter To The Radio
how Sara Cox, Jo Whiley and co. carried me through the toughest of times and why listening live is the audible hand hold we all need...
Before I went through the big ol’ breakup a couple of years ago, there were two things I'd never really done before…
One of those was live alone. Having grown up in the leafy London suburbs, a stone’s throw away from central London, with a relationship to my family so close that one ex boyfriend once described us as a ‘cheerio family’ (unsure of that one, but I think there was a compliment hidden in there somewhere) and being someone almost perpetually scared of their own shadow (weirdly not something I brag about often), if we sidestep the few months of living away during a short stint at university- I was, and remain, a homebody through and through.
The other, was listen to the radio much.
