It's BST, Baby! 10 (or so) Dreamy Picks On My New Season Wish List
and the tabs I *cannot* and *shall not* close...

AH! It’s time! The big wardrobe changeover is on the horizon and the afternoon where I try and squeeze only the thickest of my knits into some kind of organised storage system is upon us (I just saw these which almost look *too* nice to put in the loft or under the bed). I love this ‘changeover’ time, because not only is it an opportunity to really go through everything I have and pieces that have worked the hardest, but it’s also a chance to see what I might have forgotten about and if there are any gaps in my wardrobe (maybe there’s another post on this when this happens?!). Anyway, before I schedule the time to sort out my wardrobe (which I always think will take about an hour and ends up being a whole-day activity, surrounded by mountains of clothes and me lying down somewhere wondering why I started), I thought I’d share with you a little bit of the new season dreaming that has gone on in my tabs bar over the last couple of weeks!
When it comes to dressing, I think my favourite seasons are the ‘gentle seasons’ a.k.a spring and autumn. Where- even though the colours are beautiful, birds are chriping and the world is coming to life (or vibrantly turning orange with a cool chill developing in the air)- dressing feels exciting. It’s not so cold that every outfit is concealed with a thick coat and a scarf that will cause *whispers* scarf hair, or so hot that anything other than Uniqlo linen shorts and a vest top feel like an endurance test. Dressing in spring and autumn (bar the obvious threat of rain- which, after about 30 years in the UK I’m almost getting used to)- is fun! You can wear the dress without tights! Pull on a gorgeous blouse with jeans and sandals and throw a cardigan on your shoulders and that, my friend, is an outfit! I feel like I can be my best dressed self in these seasons and the reinvigoration a new season offers me with regards to getting dressed is wonderful all over again.
So! As we enter BST and April in all it’s daffodil yellow glory, I thought i’d share a few of the items and brands inspiring me and my wardrobe at the moment. Although some are definitely investment pieces and ‘blue sky thinking’ additions, I’m hoping they might inspire me to have a wardrobe rummage, or source something similar second-hand. There’s some serious gems in here, so read on for the kind of dresses that will see you through lazy Sunday picnics, ‘oh!! i just threw this on!’ nursery runs and date nights that will have you feeling like Florence Welch waltzing barefoot along the Pyramid Stage…
